One late evening I was slumbering in front of the TV watching NY1 and came across the “New Yorker of the week”. It was December 2010 and there was the story of Emily Dubner and her “Baking For Good<\/a>“. Here’s that report: NYer Of The Week<\/a>. I had an idea and got in touch with BFG sometime on January 2011, but had no answer. Next April I was again in NY so I contacted once more BFG, this time I delivered a paper star to them, offering to teach them the skill, and Emily replied. We met for the first time together with her business partners at a Starbuck on 2nd and 80 something in Manhattan. That’s how the story went after. For the “passing on the skill session” we met at Eli’s bar on Third and 80th. Emily is the first person I was able to show and teach this little thing to. (ok, this is poor English, deal with it)<\/p>\n

Now she knows and maybe the Star will really become a tradition for someone else. My mission is accomplished.<\/p>\n

Back to the core business,\u00a0 I “exported” from NY to Genoa a big box containing a selection of cookies from BFG and shared with friends. They all loved them.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>By the way, this is a rare picture of a Christmas Tree as our family tradition wants.<\/p>\n

This in particular was Christmas 2005, was decorated with white paper stars, some made by myself, but many of them are actually my mother’s hand made stars.<\/p>\n

When she passed away, my two brothers and I shared her paper stars, but I am the only in the family who still know how to craft them.<\/p>\n

PS. My bros suck at this.<\/p>\n
