Stiamo timidamente programmando il rientro in USA. Ma qualcuno in casa \u00e8 ancora preoccupato e sebbene ora abbiamo una ipotesi di data ed i biglietti, resta sempre questa incognita che \u00e8 il virus. I nostri vicini di casa sono medici, la moglie lavora in ER in un ospedale che \u00e8 letteralmente ad una strada di distanza. Allora \u00e8 da quando abbiamo iniziato a valutare il viaggio che Miriam periodicamente mi chiede di scrivere per avere informazioni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi, after a discussion and a fist fight with my wife Miriam, we have resolved that we’re coming back to New York soon.
We’re both so happy, but Miriam pulse rate is still higher then normal because the “what if” issue is still there.
What if our friends are on vacation far away and I need to se a doctor to check me if I panic… ?
I hand on this question to you; depended on me, I would dump her in the Hudson but that’s kinda illegal in New York, right ?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hi there, Ha! That is exciting, it is a great time to come back! I haven’t heard anything about COVID in a while, cases are the lowest they’ve ever been, and it looks like the pandemic is more or less done in many respects. For instance, in New York State (outside NYC), the mask mandate was lifted weeks ago, but it has been sort of not officially announced in NYC, and so each building has its own rules. Here, they made it optional, and they tend to be quite conservative, so that’s a good sign of things being more normalized.
We are always around, so not to worry, if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out or come over. The East River is closer than the Hudson River. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also – my wife worked the last few days in the ER and there wasn’t even one COVID patient….. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Ha proprio ragione; da noi all’East river sono solo 4 avenues, l’Hudson mi costringerebbe anche ad attraversare il Parco, pi\u00f9 tutta la Upper West che non \u00e8 uno scherzo. Anzi, ho verificato su Google Earth; la distanza fino all’East River \u00e8 1 Km esatto, per arrivare all’Hudson invece sono 2,6 Km. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
