To All Residents and Unit Owners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this notice is to advise that, unfortunately, 2 individuals on staff have tested positive for Covid 19.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both cases, the individuals were at home, in self-quarantine at the time they developed Covid symptoms and both also appear to have contracted the virus from family members who had tested positive which had initiated the self-quarantine requirement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the case of one staff member, he has been not been at the building since December 14 and in the case of the other, he has not been in the building since a shift ending early morning December 18. All members of the building staff have been advised and to a man, no one has reported that any of their family members have tested positive nor has any man exhibited any Covid symptoms. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, testing has been recommended for the benefit of all concerned.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As noted last month, spikes of Covid 19 cases have been reported in New York and throughout the country and the predicted \u201cadditional wave\u201d does appear to be occurring.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, it is important for us all to guard against complacency and the Board, in consultation with Leka and management is reviewing what additional steps may be taken to protect the health and safety of the staff and residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All unit owners and residents are reminded to continue to follow the best practices to limit the spread of COVID-19. In relation to the common areas, beyond the work of staff, building residents need to work collectively to keep everyone safe and well. This includes matters such as elevator and laundry room usage, not congregating in the lobby or floor landings and limiting close and extended staff interaction. In regards to the latter, it may be the case that unless absolutely necessary, staff may be restricted from loading and unloading cars and instead only provide the luggage cart for use.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBest practices\u201d during the Covid 19 Pandemic include<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Maintain Social distancing (a distance of 6\u2019 between you and others) in every setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Utilize good hand hygiene (washing your hands with soap and water several times a day).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Disinfect daily frequently touched hard surfaces such as doorknobs, faucets, keyboards, remote controls, cellphones, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Avoid congregating in the common areas, such as the lobby or laundry room and do not get into a crowded elevator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional advice and guidance for all residents<\/strong>\u2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Avoid hosting large gatherings ; If you or a family member contracts Covid or comes in close contact with someone who tests positive and self-quarantine is a necessity, inform management promptly so that any needed and necessary assistance can be provided. ; If there are any additional matters of concern in this regard, please inform management.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Allora ho mandato un messaggio ad uno dello staff con il quale abbiamo un rapporto ormai consolidato. Viene dal Montenegro, ha una sorella che vive a Vicenza, adora l’Italia, abbracci quando arriviamo a New York, \u00e8 una persona notevole, se hai un problema puoi chiamare il supervisor ma se chiami lui forse \u00e8 meglio, la sua presenza \u00e8 considerata da tutti come una garanzia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gli ho scritto un messaggio neutro del tipo “tutto bene ?” E scopro che \u00e8 uno dei due che si \u00e8 preso il COVID, ma adesso sta meglio. Sta meglio perch\u00e8 chi si prende cura di lui ? La residente dell’appartamento 6A, medico, che gli fornisce assistenza completa, a lui ad alla moglie. Mi scrive che \u00e8 tranquillo perch\u00e8 sente di essere in buone mani. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non voglio trovare morali stiracchiate e fare paragoni improbabili, ma un dipendente del condominio viene curato da una inquilina che gli fornisce tutta l’assistenza e le medicine di cui ha bisogno. Le medicine gli sono date dall’assicurazione che il sindacato richiede per la categoria, per\u00f2 \u00e8 una dottoressa che abita nel condominio che va a casa sua per accertarsi che il decorso della malattia sia regolare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nota: tipico \u00e8 rendere chiaro che il contagio dei due dipendenti \u00e8 avvenuto tra le mura domestiche e NON sul luogo di lavoro. Forse l’informazione serve per rassicurare i cond\u00f2mini, o forse per questioni assicurative, non si sa mai.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
